Savoring the flavor is a mindful practice that allows us to slow down when we are eating. Yes, even eating can be a mindful practice. Taking time to chew our food completely aids in the digestion process and maintains healthy normal functions like metabolism. I’ve even noticed myself eating less when I chew my food more!
When you sit down to eat today take time to savor the flavor. Slow things down by chewing your food completely. Reflect on how this made you feel, was it hard, did you eat as much, did you enjoy your food more?
