Similar to smell, sound has a powerful effect on our brains as well. For example, music can make us happy, or feel energized, it can make us want to get up and move or sometimes it can make us emotional or sad. The use of sound can also be used to induce feelings of calm and peace. Taking time to listen to soothing sounds can be extremely beneficial for the mental and physical body.
What is your favorite sound? Birds chirping, thunder rolling, bells chiming, maybe it’s a song? Whatever it may be set your timer for 5-minutes and let yourself get lost in your favorite sounds. Make sure to stay present with your body as you do this. What are you feeling and experiencing? Use your workbook to describe what you heard and how it made you feel and as always feel free to share with me or your community about your experience.
